Biasanya tanda lahir tidaklah berbahaya dan bisa hilang dengan sendirinya dalam beberapa hari atau hingga hitungan tahun.
Beberapa tanda lahir bayi :
a. Hemangioma
> Sekelompok pembuluh darah yang tidak ikut aktif dalam peredaran darah yang muncul dipermukaan kulit (tetapi bukan tumor) dapat membesar 2x kemudian menipis dan menghilang dan hanya tumbuh di satu tempat.
# Strawberry Hemangioma
> Ada yang berbentuk seperti buah cerry/ strawberry hingga seukuran alas gelas. Berwarna merah cerah, menonjol, dan lunak. Muncul di minggu pertama pasca lahir dan dapat hilang saat memasuki usia sekolah. Tindakan koreksi biasanya dilakukan dokter apabila sudah terasa mengganggu dengan minum obat. Apabila tanda lahir berdarah, dapat dihentikan dengan menekan dengan kasa steril.
# Cavernous Hemangioma
> Terbentuk dari pembuluh darah yang lebih besar yang menyangkut lapisan kulit yang lebih dalam. Muncul sejak lahir dan akan menghilang tanpa bekas saat memasuki masa pubertas. Bila mengganggu dapat dihilangkan dengan minum obat yang sama dengan Strawberry Hemangioma.
b. Salmon Patches
> Berbentuk bercak merah muda yang tidak menonjol pada permukaan kulit dan terlihat jelas saat bayi menangis dan akan menghilang dalam hitungan bulan.
c. Mongolian Spots
> Terperangkapnya sel melanosit/ pigmen dibelakang tubuh bayi pada saat pembentukan sistem saraf, dengan biru, kehitaman atau abu-abu dengan batas tegas seperti tanda legam dengan ukuran variatif, biasanya terdapat pada punggung, paha, kaki dan bahu, yang akan memudar pada tahun pertama atau bisa juga menetap hingga dewasa.
d. Bercak Cafe’ au lait
> Bintik berwarna coklat muda seperti kopi susu dan bentuk tidak teratur dengan ukuran sekitar 3-5 mm. Apabila terdapat 5 atau lebih tanda lahir sebaiknya segera dikonsultasikan pada dokter.
e. Nevus Congenital
> Berupa tahi lalat yang muncul sejak lahir berwarna kecoklatan sampai hitam. Apabila semakin membesar sebaiknya segera dikonsultasikan pada dokter karena pertanda awal keganasan.
f. Akrosianosis
> Ditemukan di jari tangan dan kaki berupa bercak kemerahan. Apabila bayi sedang menagis/ kedinginan akan berubah menjadi kebiruan dan dapat hilang dalam hitungan bulan sehingga tidak berbahaya.
g. Kutis Marmorata
> Seperti jaring laba-laba berwarna kemerahan dipermukaan kulit, terdapat dikaki atau tangan yang bersifat sementara yang hilang dalam hitungan bulan.
